As a Teaching School and Lead Provider of SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training), St. Mary's Menston offers training across all subjects and in 2016–17 is extremely proud to be the lead SCITT school in Leeds for Mathematics and English.

In partnership with Leeds Trinity University, this is an opportunity to train alongside experienced, committed and passionate subject specialists in a training scheme overseen by a Teaching School in an outstanding Academy Trust. St. Mary's offers graduate teacher training via a school based training route with the possibility of a job offer on successful completion of the course.

To assist you during your initial teacher training year you may be entitled to a bursary of up to £25,000 – depending on the subject you wish to teach, your degree classification or highest relevant academic qualification. Course fees will be £9,000 and include 60 credits of Leeds Trinity University Master's Degree. If your degree isn't in the subject you wish to teach you may be able for a training bursary to enhance your subject knowledge before starting your training.

Training commences in September 2016; competition for places is expected to be high so early applications are encouraged.
